Name: David Jacob Johansen Nicknames: None
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Year: 7
Gift: David has superhuman agility, meaning he can move faster, jump higher, etc.
Physical Appearance: Standing at 5’10 and weighing 150, most of which is muscle, David has a pretty average build. He works out and exercises a lot, so he is in very good shape. Now, David isn’t what you would call unattractive, but he doesn’t talk much and always looks so serious, and that tends to put people off.
His hair is short, pretty much just going to his ears, and dark brown. It is naturally straight, and almost always messy considering he doesn’t do anything to it. Unlike most boys who gel their bangs or whatever, he just lets his hair dry, possibly brushes it, and is on his way.
His eyes are the same dark hazel as his hair, but slightly darker so they look nearly black. They have a way of looking through people instead of at them. His nose is pretty average, just a slight bump near the top where it was broken one time in a fight, and his mouth is pretty much normal too. He has a slight cleft in his chin, and on days he forgets to shave he has a thin layer of stubble on his lower face.
He usually wears comfortable clothing like loose or baggy pants, possibly a t-shirt or tank-top, and then wears a jacket over top. When it gets warmer out he will wear shorts and a t-shirt, possibly with sandals, but not often. Normally his footwear includes running shoes and army boots, and he’s quite fine with that.
He doesn’t tend to wear jewellery a lot, but he is always seen with a silver chain around his neck, a gift from his mother before she passed away. He is sometimes found wearing a watch, but aside from that he doesn’t wear anything but his clothes.
Some distinguishable characteristics would include a deep scar on his back, running nearly from his left shoulder blade to his right hip, from a knife fight he got himself into one time. He also has a slight bump on his nose where it had been broken, possibly from the same fight, or maybe one of the many others he found himself in over the years. He didn’t really grow up in a good neighbourhood.

Personality: David is a quiet guy, but not in the way that makes people pick on his or anything, more like in a thoughtful, distant sort of way. He doesn’t waste a second of thought when it comes to standing up for what’s right, or what he believes in, and over the years that has gotten him into some pretty nasty fights, most of which he’s won.
He doesn’t like getting too close to people emotionally, probably because growing up in the ‘bad neighbourhood’ in Detroit has taught him that people don’t live forever, especially when they hang around with him. He had a lot of enemies. He can seem distant at times, but he doesn’t get lost in thought like some people do. He is a hard worker when need be, and is a natural leader. He hates taking orders, and has somewhat of a pride issue, where his pride simply will not let him apologize for anything, regardless of how big or small his mistake may have been.
It takes quite a while for him to come to trust anyone, and then more time for him to warm up to them, and still more time for him to consider anyone a friend, but if anyone ever gets that far, they will be justly rewarded, because they will find that there actually is a person hidden beneath that hard outer shell. Not a very sensitive person or anything, but an actual person.
History: Early years: David was born into a single-parented family in the rough part of Detroit in the fall of 1989, where he lived in a small apartment with only one room, for the first few years of his life. He never had many toys or any pets to play with, but that was fine with him. He would sit for hours on end staring out the window at the harbour, and rarely ever cried.
Growing up: Growing up in the rough part of a city, any city, will really toughen someone up, and that’s what it did to David. By the time he was going to school he knew how to defend himself against pretty much all of the bullies, although some of the older kids ganged up on him sometimes and beat the snot out of him. But he was only six years old, so what can you expect?
As the years went on he started working out, which was very odd for someone who was only in grade three, and he could soon take on the gang of bullies that tormented him, and it was time for them to get a taste of their own medicine. They left him alone after that. He was a good student in school, even though he barely ever studied, and didn’t ever bring materials home with him. He never made many friends, but people tended to look up to him. Either that or they were afraid of him, or a mix of both. He was never sure, but it didn’t matter either way.
Later years: When he was in grade seven his mother passed away, and he was sent to a foster home, then to another, and another, and about five more in the next few years. It just seemed he wasn’t the type of kid these people wanted. They wanted fun little baskets of joy, not a tough, distant, strange kid like him. And so he was transferred from one family to another, pretty much going to every corner of the states and back, twice or maybe even three times, until his second year of high school. Finally there was a family who wanted to keep him, for some reason even they seemed not to know, and there he stayed. He transferred to the school he was going to nearly a quarter through the year, and didn’t really talk much, so no one really knows anything about him. He was a good student though, so he was selected to go on this school, and that brings us to the present, so it’s not really history anymore, now is it.
Roleplay Example: This is just a random post from some other site I’m on, if that’s okay:
Well this didn't bode well for our intrepid explorer, and as the last light faded she heard a noise in the distance, like something running towards her. Well, she was never overly brave, and it had only been after ten minutes of deep breathing and convincing herself nothing was going to happen that she had even ended up in the deep woods anyway, and this new sound wasn't very comforting.
She stood on the porch in front of the door to the apparently deserted cabin for quite some time, trying to figure out if she should stay here or try to find her way out of the woods. Well, both sides had pros and cons, like if she stayed here, whoever owned the cabin could come back and kick her out, but if she left to find her way out of the woods she could possibly just get herself even more lost than she already was. Not to mention whatever was making that sound. What if it was some huge animal that ate people?
Now wait a second there, she thought to herself, there's no animal that would eat a person that would possibly live around here. Sure, if it was a lion or something it might attack her or kill her, but it wouldn't eat her. Wait, this wasn't helping. Well, no matter. This forest was by a big city, right? No ferocious wild beasts would live here, right? She hoped so.
And so it was decided she was going to stay at the cabin for the night, and if the owner happened to come back or something, she could explain what had happened and maybe they would help her find her way back. Or they could eat her. Oh for god's sake, she told herself, nothing is going to happen. Her mind was just running away on her, jumping to impossible conclusions that only happened in movies and books. Nothing was going to happen.
She opened the door to the cabin as quietly as she could, hoping maybe whatever was making the noise wouldn't hear her or something, and walked inside, looking around for a light switch. Well, outside it had been dark, very dark, but atleast there had been some light from the moon. Inside, the walls stopped that light and she couldn't see a thing. Maybe it wasn't so smart to come in here after all.
But wait a minute, she remembered she had her cell phone, the screen of which lit up. That was good. So she took it out of her pocket and flipped it open, shining the light around the room and stopping when she found a couch. Maybe she should have been looking for the light switch, but she didn't care now that she had at least some light. So she sat down on the couch and ... hey wait a minute, she had her cell phone! Wow, she'd read in books how fear could make you forget some pretty obvious things, but she never knew she would be so scared she'd forget she could just call someone on her cell and ask for them to come pick her up.
Wow, but who to call? Her parents would kill her if they found out she was wandering the forest alone after dark, and her brother was away for the week at some camp thing, and she didn't really know anyone around here all that well. Now that she thought about it, she'd spent so much of her time wandering the city that she had forgotten entirely about making friends. The only person she had hung out with for more than five minutes since she got here was Lestat, who probably had better things to do than find some loser girl, six years younger than him, who got lost in the forest because it got too dark. Great.
